Bayern president: Lewandowski could be worth €150M if we let him leave

Bayern Munich are refusing to meet with Robert Lewandowski's agent in a bid to keep the Polish striker on their books.

The Bavarian club's outspoken president, Uli Hoeness, says Bayern could pocket €150 million from selling Lewandowski this summer, but they have so far resisted any attempts from his representative or rival outfits to wrest the 29-year-old from the Allianz Arena.

"We always had control of Robert, but we didn't have any control of his agent," Hoeness told Sky, with translation from ESPN's Mark Lovell.

"(Agent Pini Zahavi) tried four or five times to get an appointment with (CEO) Karl-Heinz (Rummenigge), (sporting director) Hasan (Salihamidzic), and I, but we didn't give him one.

"I let him know that I only have time for him from 14:30 onwards on Sept. 2."

Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea have apparently been eyeing Lewandowski this summer. The former Borussia Dortmund hitman has netted 89 times in the Bundesliga over the past three seasons and has won six top-flight titles since he moved to Germany in 2010.

Hoeness indicated that Lewandowski's agreement with Zahavi concludes at the end of August - contrary to Sky's report that the pair have extended their arrangement until 2020 - so the Bayern chief hopes the player can focus on his duties under manager Niko Kovac for the 2018-19 term.

"If Robert Lewandowski can free himself of the large burden of his agent and fully concentrate on Bayern, he is the best new signing in the history of Bayern Munich," he continued.

"We could have taken a fee of up to €150 million this summer."

Hoeness also revealed that Paris Saint-Germain target Jerome Boateng and Sebastian Rudy could depart before the German and French windows close Aug. 31.
