The Los Angeles Lakers continue to fill out a new wackadoo supporting cast around LeBron James.

The Lakers have agreed to a one-year, $2.4-million minimum deal with free-agent center JaVale McGee, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

The 30-year-old has spent the past two seasons coming off the bench for the Golden State Warriors, averaging 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks (20.8, 11.0, and 3.3 per 36 minutes) while winning two championships.

Despite his penchant for hijinks and propensity for brain cramps, McGee was effective in his rim-rolling role with the Warriors, providing energy, vertical spacing, and deterrence around the basket on defense. He gave them some valuable playoff minutes this spring.

The Lakers will be his sixth NBA team.
