Thomas intends to hold out until Seahawks resolve contract dispute
Seahawks star safety Earl Thomas announced Sunday on Twitter that he intends to skip all team activities until Seattle grants his request for a reworked contract, while reiterating that he wants "to remain a Seahawk for the rest of my career."

Thomas is in the final year of a four-year, $40-million deal. His $10-million-per-season average is now $3 million less than that of the highest-paid safety, Eric Berry of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The six-time Pro Bowler is the last remaining original member of the Legion of Boom. The departures of fellow high-profile defensive players Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett this offseason have led to speculation regarding Thomas' own future in Seattle. Things were further fueled by rumors of a potential trade to his hometown Dallas Cowboys.
A star safety holding out isn't new territory for Seattle. Kam Chancellor stayed away from the team through all of the 2015 training camp and the first two regular-season games before reporting back to the Seahawks.
