Report: Leicester City interested in Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira
Leicester City manager Claude Puel may be sizing up a familiar face as a defensive reinforcement.
The Foxes are reportedly interested in signing FC Porto defender Ricardo Pereira, according to Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett, who notes Pereira's transfer fee could cost Leicester approximately £22 million.
Puel is familiar with Pereira thanks to their time together in Ligue 1. After two seasons with Porto where he eventually transitioned from winger to right-back, the Portuguese club loaned Pereira to Nice in 2015. There, under Puel, he also began seeing time on the left side of the defence. The 24-year-old later returned to Porto ahead of the 2017-18 campaign, taking over for Maxi Pereira as the club's starting right-back.
Pereira has also earned three caps for Portugal. He made his international debut in November 2015, replacing Goncalo Guedes in the 82nd minute of a 1-0 loss to Russia.
