Denver Broncos general manager John Elway is confident the draft will allow his club to plug the hole that was created by the release of running back C.J. Anderson earlier this month.

Elway hasn't hinted at what his team plans to do with the No. 5 selection on April 26 or which running back the Broncos are currently favoring in the three-day event, but he expects to find a suitable replacement for Anderson.

"It’s hard to predict where they’re going to end up, but it is a deep class (at running back)," Elway said, per Kyle Fredrickson of the Denver Post. "We feel good about the fact that we’ll be able to get a good one."

Anderson rushed for 1,007 yards and three touchdowns on 245 carries last season, while also catching 28 passes for 224 yards and another score.

His release left third-year player Devontae Booker and sophomore De'Angelo Henderson as the only running backs on the Broncos' roster.
