Appearing at a team press conference Monday, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck indicated he was making progress rehabbing his injured shoulder, but has yet to throw an NFL-sized football.

"I have not picked up the "Duke" (NFL regulation footballs) and started throwing it yet," Luck said, via MMQB's Albert Breer. "I don't want to skip steps. I'm trusting the process I'm in now very, very much."

It was reported in March that Luck had resumed throwing, but the footballs were evidently not regulation-sized. The Colts' signal-caller says his arm is feeling "really good" and remains confident in his progress as he prepares for the 2018 season.

Having suffered setbacks during previous recoveries, Luck is making sure he's going about his rehabilitation the right way.

"I’ve gone and skipped steps before and I’ve paid for it. I’m not going to do that again," he said, via 1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen. He added he's "very optimistic that I will come back better than I was."

The franchise quarterback's last NFL game came 463 days ago, a home victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Jan. 1, 2017.
