Earl Thomas: 'Nobody knows' if I'll stay with Seahawks

After seeing so many of his teammates leave the Seattle Seahawks, safety Earl Thomas thinks his future with the team is in question.

Thomas has been rumored as a trade candidate since lobbying for the Dallas Cowboys to acquire him after a game last season. The 28-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract, says he would like to stay in Seattle, but admits nothing is certain.

"Hopefully I stay, but right now, nobody knows," Thomas told Irish radio show "Off the Ball" recently on a trip overseas. "It's a guessing game, so we'll see."

The six-time Pro Bowler has a $10.4-million cap hit in 2018 and doesn't appear willing to accept a pay cut to stay with the Seahawks, noting he would still enjoy playing football for another club.

"In my case, whether I'm in Seattle or anywhere else, I'm going to be rich and happy regardless," Thomas said. "So it's a cut-throat league, but if you're at the top of your game and you don't give them any reasons to devalue, you're good. That's just how I look at it."
