Cowboys sign Allen Hurns

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys signed free-agent wide receiver Allen Hurns to a two-year contract Friday.

The deal's reportedly worth $12 million, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

He was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday and said he received interest from up to 10 teams.

The 26-year-old undrafted free agent had a breakout sophomore season with the Jaguars in 2015, catching 64 of 105 targets for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He signed a four-year, $40-million extension ahead of the 2016 campaign, but failed to deliver on the promise he had shown the previous year.

Hurns played 21 games over the first two years of his extension, catching just 74 of 132 targets for a meager 961 yards and five touchdowns.

He'll likely compete with Terrance Williams for the Cowboys' No. 2 receiver role.
