Scott Boras continues to play the waiting game with MLB clubs to ensure he gets his clients what they deserve, and it appears deals for some of his marquee players may be completed soon.
When asked if deals were imminent for his clients Jake Arrieta, Mike Moustakas, Greg Holland, or Carlos Gonzalez, Boras told MLB Network's Jon Morosi that some things were getting close.
"We're closer to deals than we were two weeks ago," Boras explained. "Some of those things are only a phone call away."
While there has been reported interest in the four aforementioned players, Boras doesn't appear to have found anything suitable for his clients and may continue to wait with Opening Day just three weeks away. Moustakas, specifically, may not sign before the season opener despite coming off a career year (38 HR, .521 SLG).
"Moose is an All-Star third baseman with near-40 home runs in the prime of his career. We expect clubs with winning goals to sign him," Boras added.

Arrieta continues to draw interest from the Washington Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies - who are reportedly open to a three-year contract with the 2015 NL Cy Young winner. Gonzalez is coming off a down year, but finished strong last season (6 HR, 16 RBI, 1.250 OPS in September and October).
Holland appeared to be closing in on a deal to reunite with the Rockies in December, but Colorado signed Wade Davis to a three-year contract instead.
