Lamar Jackson rejected the notion that he was asked to line up at wide receiver during the NFL scouting combine, as he aims to be selected in the first round as a quarterback.

It was reported by NFL Network's Peter Schrager that numerous teams have asked Jackson to work out at wide receiver, despite the fact that he never recorded a catch during his collegiate career.

"No teams asked me to play wide receiver. I don't even know where that came from. I'm strictly quarterback," Jackson told reporters Friday.

Jackson won the Heisman Trophy in 2016 and was named the ACC Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017 during his tenure at Louisville.

During his media availability, Jackson revealed that he will throw at the combine, but won't run the 40-yard dash.

"The film speaks for itself with that, showing off my speed," Jackson said via Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report.

The quarterback is highly sought-after with a host of teams meeting with him throughout the combine.

Jackson previously stated in January that the discussion about him potentially converting to wide receiver was "annoying," noting that he'd played quarterback his entire life.
