Report: Chiefs called every team offering Peters, only 3 showed interest
The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to trade Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, but apparently, the star corner could have been had by any team.
The Chiefs called every team in the league in February, looking for a trade partner for Peters. Only three teams showed any interest, Peter King of The MMQB reports.
Peters is just 25 years old and has 19 interceptions to his name after his first three seasons, but he comes with character concerns.
The Chiefs suspended him for an important divisional game in Week 14 after he threw a referee's flag into the stands and walked off the field the previous week. He's also reportedly had run-ins with the coaching staff.
It all amounts to the Rams getting a premier talent for a future second-round pick and a fourth-round pick in this year's draft. The other offers the Chiefs received fell short of that package.
