Washington Redskins safety Su'a Cravens has been reinstated by the NFL from the reserve/left squad list, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.

Cravens recently applied for reinstatement after sitting out all of last season to recover from various injuries. Washington placed him on its reserve/left squad list in September.

The former second-round pick flirted with retirement last year, but this is a step toward returning to the league. The Redskins are expected to move on from their defensive back, but there could be trade interest this offseason.

Cravens played in 11 games as a rookie in 2016, recording 34 tackles, one sack, and one interception.
