Report: Redskins' Cravens applies for reinstatement

Washington Redskins safety Su'a Cravens has applied to the NFL for reinstatement, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Cravens flirted with retirement last September before leaving the Redskins, who placed him on their reserve/left squad list shortly after.

The former second-round pick is ostensibly ready to give football and his NFL career another shot. Whether or not Washington will take him back is an entirely different story. In January, reports surfaced suggesting Cravens' future with the team remains up in the air.

The 22-year-old played in 11 games as a rookie in 2016, recording 34 tackles, one sack, and one interception.
