The New York Giants hired Mike Shula as their new offensive coordinator, sources told Kimberley Jones of NFL Network.

Shula served in the same role with the Carolina Panthers from 2013-17 but was fired in early January. He was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator from 1996-99.

He's expected to act as the Giants' quarterbacks coach, as well, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He also worked as quarterbacks coach with the Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Miami Dolphins.

New Giants head coach Pat Shurmur has already said he'll be calling offensive plays in 2018.
