NFL releases 2018 schedule with Eagles-Falcons opener

The NFL released its 2018 schedule Thursday, with the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Atlanta Falcons in the season opener on Thursday, Sept. 6.

All prime-time games will be moved forward this year. Monday Night Football will start at 8:15 p.m. ET as opposed to 8:30. Sunday Night Football kicks off at 8:20 instead of 8:30, while Thursday Night Football moves from 8:25 to 8:20.

Week 1 carries the standard two Monday Night games. The New York Jets face the Detroit Lions in Game 1, and Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders host the new-look Los Angeles Rams in the second game of the doubleheader.

The Thanksgiving Day tripleheader in Week 12 starts off in Detroit with the Lions hosting the Chicago Bears at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Washington Redskins visit the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. and the New Orleans Saints host the Atlanta Falcons in Game 3, starting at 8:20 p.m.

The Raiders welcome the Denver Broncos on Christmas Eve in Week 16.

All 16 games in Week 17 will be played on Sunday, Dec. 30. Games are currently scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 4:25 p.m., with the contest deemed most significant to end the regular season moved back to the evening slot.
