Ryan Shazier of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been discharged from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Rehabilitation Institute on Thursday and will transition into an outpatient therapy program.
The hospital provided no additional information about Shazier's health or his status.
Shazier celebrated the development with a post on Instagram.
The Steelers linebacker suffered a spinal injury on Dec. 4 and underwent spinal stabilization surgery in the days following. He began physical rehab on Dec. 14 and has since made appearances at Steelers games and practices.
His father has been encouraged by his improving state and recently said Shazier is regaining feeling in his legs.
