Michigan State got a big conference win Sunday at Maryland, but the heat on Tom Izzo's basketball program continues to be turned up.

The Hall of Fame coach cut short questions about former player and assistant Travis Walton, who's been named in documents as an individual involved in an alleged assault and separate gang rape while at the university in 2010.

"To be honest with you, I don't remember why he left," Izzo said of Walton's departure from Michigan State that year, per Josh Stirn of 247Sports. "He went to Europe to play ... I'll still say I'll cooperate with any investigation."

Walton played four years for the Spartans before working as a student assistant coach in 2009-10. During that season, he was accused of punching a female student in the face at an East Lansing bar, and was later named in an internal university letter as a subject involved in a campus gang rape. Walton was never charged regarding the latter incident, but reached a plea deal on the assault charge by pleading guilty to littering.

He most recently worked as an assistant coach for the G League's Agua Caliente Clippers, but was placed on administrative leave last week in the wake of the scandal surrounding Michigan State. Walton denied the allegations against him to ESPN.

When pressed further on the matter Sunday, Izzo replied, "I've cooperated with every investigation."

Earlier, during his on-court interview, Izzo said he hoped people would support the survivors of assault at Michigan State, as well as his basketball team.

"I just hope that everybody rallies behind this team a little bit," he said, via ESPN. "And I hope we all rally behind the survivors, and we make our community a better place."
