Amid reports linking prized winger Malcom with a move to north London, Bordeaux president Stephane Martin insists that the player will not be sold in the January window.

"Malcom, it has been said and repeated, will not leave," Martin told reporters, courtesy of L'Equipe. "He said he wanted to play in the Premier League someday. It is normal. Which player would not want to play in England? So there is no problem Malcom."

Malcom, 20, has emerged as one of the most coveted players in the January transfer window, with both Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly monitoring the player.

Chatter of Malcom's desire to leave and subsequent discontent was amplified when the Brazilian and Les Girondins' mates Jonathan Cafu and Otavio posted a lighthearted video on social media hours after slumping to defeat at home to Caen. That result cost Jocelyn Gourvennec his job, and now his successor, Gus Poyet, contends that Malcom's situation with the club was an important variable in his appointment.

"I asked straight away if Malcom would be staying or not," "Poyet admitted. "They said yes. I said OK, now we can continue the discussion."
