Lakers' owner throws support behind Walton amid Fizdale rumors
Jeanie Buss is standing behind her team's head coach.
According to a report Friday, some executives in the league believe the Los Angeles Lakers are sizing up free-agent coach David Fizdale to replace Luke Walton at the helm. Buss, the Lakers' president and owner, contradicted those rumors Saturday in a tweet pledging her support for Walton.

Buss' message apparently wasn't a timely accident. Sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that the tweet was intended as a firm response to the Fizdale buzz, which reportedly originated outside the organization.
The Memphis Grizzlies fired Fizdale earlier this season, catching plenty of NBA stars by surprise. Prior to his stint with the Grizzlies, Fizdale also served an assistant coach with the Miami Heat, helping the side win back-to-back championships in 2012-13.
