Yu Darvish appears to just be confusing himself now.

Hours after tweeting the New York Yankees had not made him a contract offer, the free-agent right-hander abruptly reversed course and revealed in a new tweet that he was mistaken: There was, in fact, an offer from the Yankees after all.

However, he poured cold water on a report that had stated their offer was seven years and $160 million.

Darvish has been fueling speculation about his next home on social media in recent weeks. After a report on Wednesday suggested five teams were finalists for his services, he used his Twitter account to announce a sixth mystery team had also entered the sweepstakes.

Back in December, the 31-year-old responded to an erroneous rumor that claimed he'd signed with the Chicago Cubs by calling it "#fakenews."

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman acknowledged his team's interest in Darvish this week. Other clubs reputed to be chasing the Japanese All-Star include the aforementioned Cubs, the Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros.
