Frazier confirms he's been in contact with Yankees, Mets
After the Yankees lost Game 7 of the American League Championship Series to the Houston Astros in October, it appears like free-agent third baseman and New Jersey-born Todd Frazier has a return to New York on his mind.
Frazier may get his wish, as he confirmed Monday he and his representatives have been in contact with both the Yankees and New York Mets.
"We’ve had contact with the Yankees, my agent, Brodie (Van Wagenen), has done a great job. I love playing for the Yankees," Frazier told Kevin Kernan of the New York Post. "It was such a fun time for me. We just came up short. We had a really good squad, and they are going to be really good again."
Frazier came to the Yankees in a July trade from the Chicago White Sox and hit 11 home runs and 32 RBIs over 66 games for New York. His showing was good enough for the pinstripes to consider a reunion, but they may be restricted by MLB's luxury tax, which they're trying to stay under.

If the Yankees can't afford to sign Frazier, it appears like the other New York team from Queens wouldn't mind picking him up.
"That’s another team (Mets) we’ve had contact with. The communications we’ve had with them has been great, and it has been communications with a lot of teams, not to just pinpoint one or two teams."
Frazier, who earned $12 million last season, owns a .245/.321/.459 slash line over this seven-year career along with 175 home runs and 498 RBIs.
