In addition to Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, the Chicago Bears have requested to interview offensive coordinators Josh McDaniels and Pat Shurmur for their vacant head coach position, sources informed NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Bears fired John Fox on Monday and appear to be targeting an offensive mind to help mentor quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

McDaniels is currently enjoying his second stint as the New England Patriots offensive coordinator. He left in 2009 for his first head coaching position with the Denver Broncos and, after a one-year stint with the then-St. Louis Rams, returned to New England in 2012.

Shurmur is currently the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings and has had to steer the team through a season in which three quarterbacks have taken snaps. He also has head coaching experience with the Cleveland Browns from 2011-12, and with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
