Bortles responds to Clowney's dig: 'I'm fine with being trash'
Blake Bortles fired back at Jadeveon Clowney on Wednesday, after the Texans linebacker referred to the Jaguars quarterback as "trash" following Sunday's matchup despite Jacksonville's dominant 45-7 win over Houston.
"I could care less," Bortles told Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times. "If how we're playing and how I'm playing, if that's trash, then I'm fine with being trash."
The 10-4 Jaguars have won seven of their past eight games and have completely owned the Texans this season, outscoring them 74-14 combined in Weeks 1 and 15.
As for Bortles, the fourth-year quarterback has been one of the best at his position in recent games, with seven touchdowns and no interceptions across the last three weeks. And while the Jaguars have leaned heavily on the run all season, Bortles has still performed to a career-high 89.7 QB rating to date.
