Less than 24 hours after Shohei Ohtani surprised the baseball world by joining the Los Angeles Angels, Giancarlo Stanton has apparently found a new home as well.

Stanton is reportedly on his way to the Big Apple, as the New York Yankees and Miami Marlins have agreed to a deal for the reigning National League MVP and $30 million in exchange for second baseman Starlin Castro, minor-league pitcher Jorge Guzman, and minor-league infielder Jose Devers, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman.

This means the Yankees will take back $265 million of the $295 million remaining on Stanton's contract over the next 10 seasons.

The deal is still pending Stanton's consent and his physical, although Stanton is expected to approve the trade, a source told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

Stanton is eligible to opt out of his deal following the 2020 season.

After the Marlins disclosed they were interested in reducing payroll, Stanton's future in Miami appeared to be in jeopardy. The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals both recently appeared to be front-runners for Stanton - and even met with the four-time All-Star - but he reportedly wouldn't waive his no-trade clause to go to either team.

The 28-year-old Stanton would add even more power to a Yankees' lineup that already features AL home run champ Aaron Judge and catcher Gary Sanchez. The trio combined for 144 home runs last season.

Over his eight-year career, Stanton owns a .268/360/.554 slash line with 267 home runs and 672 RBIs.

Castro, a four-time All-Star in his own right, hit .300/.338/.454 last season, including 16 home runs and 63 RBIs. He's owed $22 million over the next two seasons and also has a $16-million team option for 2020.

Guzman is a 21-year-old Dominican right-hander who went 5-3 with a 2.84 ERA for the Yankees' A-ball affiliate in Staten Island. He struck out 11.9 hitters per nine innings in 13 starts.

The 18-year-old Devers - the cousin of Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers - appeared in 53 games in rookie ball last season, hitting .245/.336/.342 with 16 RBIs.
