Scott Frost is officially off to Nebraska, as the Cornhuskers announced Saturday his hiring from UCF as their new head coach.

Shortly after Frost and UCF clinched the AAC championship with a thrilling double-overtime win over Memphis, reports emerged that he agreed to a seven-year, $35-million deal with his alma mater.

"I have been fortunate to be at a wonderful school the last two years, but Nebraska is a special place with a storied tradition and a fan base which is second to none," said Frost, who played and got his coaching start as a graduate assistant with the Cornhuskers, in a statement. "I am truly humbled to be here. The state of Nebraska and the Husker program mean a great deal to me. This is home."

Frost saw his coaching stock skyrocket this season while leading the Knights to a 12-0 record and AAC glory, just two years after he inherited a team that was winless the campaign prior.

He'll embark on a similar project at Nebraska, as the program went 4-8 in 2017 under Mike Riley.
