Report: Broncos' Lynch day to day with ankle injury
Denver Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch is considered day to day with a sprained ankle sustained in Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Lynch was struggling mightily before the injury in his first start of the season, finishing 9-of-14 for 41 yards and one interception. Meanwhile, Trevor Siemian threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns in relief.
The Broncos will now have to decide who to roll with as their starter.
Despite Lynch's poor performance, Denver likely wants to give its former first-round pick more of a chance before moving on from him. And at 3-8, the Broncos' playoff hopes have long since been extinguished.
However, Siemian proved he's currently the superior player with his performance against the Raiders, and starting the ineffective Lynch over him may be a hard sell to a locker room that's used to success.
