Fournette inactive vs. Bengals after violating team rule

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette is inactive Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals after violating a team rule, the team announced.

"Leonard Fournette is not playing in today’s game due to an infraction of a team rule," head coach Doug Marrone said in a statement. "This has been addressed internally and further details will not be made public."

Among the reasons for deactivating Fournette is that he missed the team photo during the week, sources told Field Yates of ESPN. Fournette also missed a workout and an injury treatment, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported Sunday on "FOX NFL Sunday."

Chris Ivory will get the start, though T.J. Yeldon will likely also see significant snaps.

Fournette has been the key cog in the Jaguars' offense in his first NFL season. He's produced a league-leading 99.3 rushing yards per game (minimum 100 carries) and has scored six touchdowns.
