Watch: Girardi met with boos at Yankee Stadium during Game 3 intros

If this is Joe Girardi's final game in the New York Yankees' dugout, the team's fans aren't sending him off gracefully.

Down 0-2 and facing elimination against the Cleveland Indians in the American League Division Series, Girardi's side returned home for the first time in the series, though the skipper was received by a chorus of boos as his name was called during pregame introductions. The hostile reception may be explained in part due to Girardi's failure to challenge an erroneous hit-by-pitch call in Game 2, despite requests by backstop Gary Sanchez to do so.

Girardi, whose contract with the Yankees will expire after this season, said earlier Sunday he hopes the replay blunder doesn't affect his future with the team. The 52-year-old has managed the Bronx Bombers since 2008.
