Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson ask decimated Giants for jobs via Twitter

David Butler II / US PRESSWIRE

A pair of unemployed wide receivers saw an opening for a potential reunion Sunday - and submitted their applications through Twitter.

Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson (formerly Chad Ochocinco) have been out of the league since 2010 and 2011, respectively, but both believe the New York Giants could use their help. Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, and Sterling Shepard all suffered potentially serious injuries in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, nearly wiping out the team's receiving corps and leading Owens and Johnson to reach out.

Johnson was a little more subtle, going with what may have been a vague reference to Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Owens and Johnson played together as members of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2010 season. That was Owens' last campaign, while Johnson went on to play one more forgettable season with the New England Patriots.

The two combined for 26,993 receiving yards and 220 touchdowns over 385 regular-season games.
