Report: Raiders' Carr expected to return Week 6 vs. Chargers
It appears as though Derek Carr will only end up missing one game after being diagnosed with a transverse process fracture in his back.
The Oakland Raiders quarterback is expected to return Week 6 against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers, according to The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said earlier in the week that Carr's recovery could be as short as two weeks, and it looks like that will be the case. The worst-case scenario was that he would be sidelined for upwards of six weeks.
Carr was injured in Oakland's 16-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4.
In his stead for Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens will be E.J. Manuel, who completed 11-of-17 passes for 106 years against Denver after Carr went down.
Carr did campaign to be behind center this week for Oakland after taking part in practices Thursday and Friday in a limited capacity, but to no avail.
He's thrown for 753 yards in four games for seven touchdowns and just two picks.
