Reid on Peters' incident with fan: 'We can't go in that direction'
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday he addressed an incident involving cornerback Marcus Peters directing profanity toward a fan.
Peters was seen yelling at a fan behind the team bench during Monday's win over the Washington Redskins.
"I had a chance to see what took place,'' Reid said, according to Adam Teichner of ESPN. "We can't go in that direction. It's been addressed. I love the compete in the kid. I appreciate his work ethic and everything else but as professionals that's not something we want to take place.''
Peters was also involved in a shouting match with Redskins players during pregame warmups before coaches broke it up, according to Teichner.
The 24-year-old was a first-round pick in 2015 and has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons.
