The rib injury suffered by Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman on Monday appears to be a fracture, along with some damage to his lung lining, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Despite the injury, Norman has not been ruled out of the Redskins' next game on Oct. 15th against the San Francisco 49ers.

Norman suffered the injury while attempting to tackle Kansas City Chiefs wideout Chris Conley in the second quarter of Monday's loss and did not return to action.

The Redskins are on the bye this week, meaning Norman has almost two weeks to recover before their contest with the 49ers.
