Police ID Liam Jimmons as USC player who decked fan
Police at Washington State have identified Liam Jimmons as the USC player who levelled a fan postgame Friday, and they are investigating the incident for a potential assault.
"We are looking into it," Washington State assistant police chief Steve Hansen told Theo Lawson of The Spokesman-Review. "We're still gathering information, talking to witnesses, reaching out to USC to see if we can interview or they'll interview the player for us. They'll send it over to the PA's office and see what they think. Earliest is going to be next week that we get this all combined."
Although the game took place Friday night, it wasn't until Monday that a video of the incident went viral. It showed a Trojans player - allegedly Jimmons, but hard to identify because of the video quality - steamrolling a Cougars fan who'd rushed the field as the game ended.

Washington State won the contest 30-27, keeping its record perfect while making a dent in that of USC.
When asked about the incident Tuesday, Trojans coach Clay Helton said the unnamed player was being disciplined internally.
Jimmons, a redshirt freshman, appeared in the game as a reserve, but didn't record any statistics.
