Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden believes cornerback Josh Norman will miss a couple weeks after suffering a fractured rib Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN's Lisa Salters reported during the broadcast.

There was an initial fear that Norman also suffered a lung injury, a source told JP Finlay of NBC Washington, but he was cleared of any damage to his lungs.

Norman was taken to the locker room during the second quarter and underwent X-rays at halftime. He was originally deemed questionable to return.

The veteran was injured while attempting to tackle Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley in the second quarter.

During the first half of the game, Norman delivered a crushing, legal open-field hit on Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Norman recorded two tackles prior to leaving the game.
