The Jacksonville Jaguars released a statement Saturday, announcing their intention to stand for the national anthem prior to Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan linked arms with his players prior to the Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens at London's iconic Wembley Stadium.

The object of Colin Kaepernick's original protest was to highlight the injustices African-Americans face, with widespread racial inequality and police brutality. The Jaguars stated they didn't intend to disrespect the U.S. military, the flag, or the anthem, in their decision to stand.
