Packers' Nelson expects to play Sunday

Dan Powers / USA TODAY

Jordy Nelson was reported to have a 50-50 chance of playing Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, but Nelson himself has a different opinion.

The Green Bay Packers receiver picked up a quad injury in Week 2 that initially put his Week 3 status in jeopardy, but he appeared confident in his health Wednesday.

"Today, it feels a lot better than what it did on Sunday night," Nelson told team reporter Mike Spofford. "My expectations are to play, but you don't know what can happen between now and then. That was my expectation when I came in here Monday as well."

Nelson was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, and his presence may be vital considering fellow receiver Randall Cobb was held out due to a chest injury.

The Packers will hope to rebound from a 34-23 loss to the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night when they meet the winless Bengals at home.
