Chelsea remains on the hunt for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and would apparently like him to feature in a treble swoop for English talent before the transfer window closes.

The Arsenal man is set to discuss his future with Arsene Wenger on Thursday, The Telegraph's Matt Law understands, and the Blues are hoping the English international will inform his manager he wants to leave for Stamford Bridge.

News of this alleged meeting surfaces a day after an account which stated Oxlade-Chamberlain, 24, was unlikely to ink fresh terms in north London, even if the Gunners tempt him with a salary exceeding £100,000 a week.

Chelsea is poised to table an offer of £35 million for Oxlade-Chamberlain in a frenzied end to the summer that could also see deals brokered for Danny Drinkwater, who Leicester City values at £40 million, and £25-million-rated Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

Chelsea may feel it can submit low-ball bids for Oxlade-Chamberlain and Barkley due to the pair's contracts expiring at the end of the current campaign. Drinkwater is tied to paperwork until 2021, but could be tempted to force a move to reunite with his old Foxes midfield partner N'Golo Kante, beside whom he won the 2015-16 Premier League title.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is the most versatile of the bunch - he's adept at wing-back, in central midfield, and as a winger - but the other two predominantly operate in the middle of the park. This is a problem area for Antonio Conte after Nemanja Matic was granted a transfer to Manchester United, and Cesc Fabregas' suspension saw centre-half David Luiz thrust into midfield for Sunday's 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur.

A £15-million approach for Drinkwater was already spurned in mid-August, but Chelsea is confident of reaching an agreement with Leicester. Plucking Barkley from Merseyside could prove the most difficult piece of business to complete, with Spurs a long-term admirer of the 23-year-old. However, Chelsea is undeterred by Tottenham's interest and Barkley's hamstring issue, and is readying an offer.

Chelsea is also still eyeing Juventus' Alex Sandro, Law reports, and is prepared to splash £60 million on the Brazilian wing-back.
