Giants' McAdoo uncertain when Beckham, Marshall will return from injury

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo didn't provide a timeline regarding Odell Beckham's and Brandon Marshall's recovery from injuries suffered during Monday's preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Beckham suffered an ankle sprain after incurring a questionable hit from Browns safety Briean Boddy-Calhoun, while Marshall exited the game with a shoulder injury. McAdoo is unsure how long he'll be without his receivers.

"We'll see how they respond to treatment," McAdoo said via ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Marshall underwent X-rays on his shoulder which came back negative, while Beckham underwent an MRI on Tuesday which confirmed the sprain. Both players are listed as day to day.

Beckham will reportedly consider taking out an insurance policy that may be worth over $100 million in injury protection, if he and the Giants cannot agree on a long-term extension before the regular season begins. The policy could be inspired by Monday's events.

The two players are key components in the Giants' passing game and any missed time would be a major deterrent to the team's offensive game plan. Sterling Shepard would likely become a focal point of the attack if Beckham and Marshall miss any games during the regular season.
