Talib downplays scrap with Garcon during joint practice

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garcon entered a scuffle during a joint practice Thursday, but both teams downplayed the incident.

Talib reportedly shouldered Garcon after a pass was tipped by Broncos cornerback Chris Harris, and the 49ers wide receiver fought back.

After the practice ended, Talib didn't think much of the skirmish.

"Just a little wrestling match, it wasn’t no major thing," Talib said via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "I've been in real fights. That was nothing."

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan also made light of the incident.

"At the end of the practice, they were sitting, laughing with each other, talking," Shanahan said, via Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Guys are competitive and guys support their teammates, and everyone’s got each other’s backs. So anytime there’s a little scuffle on the field it’s really hard to keep people back on both sides because everyone is so protective of each other. I think that says a lot about both teams."
