Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe avoided a catastrophic injury during practice Saturday, after some initially believed he could've been out indefinitely upon being carted off the field.
Wolfe told Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post that he suffered an ankle sprain, but will be ready for Week 1.

The 27-year-old is a valuable contributor for the Broncos' defense, recording 5.5 sacks in consecutive seasons.
