Vince Wilfork literally hangs up his cleats and picks up a pair of barbecue tongs in a video posted to his Twitter account Monday.

"No more cleats. I'm moving on to smoked meats," Wilfork quips.

The 35-year-old free agent said as recently as May that he hadn't made his mind up about retiring, but now it appears he's ready for the next stage of his life.

The nation's meat supply is on notice.

Wilfork spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the New England Patriots and the last two with the Houston Texans, winning two Super Bowls along the way. The five-time Pro Bowler finishes with 16 sacks, 26 passes knocked down, three interceptions, four forced fumbles, and a heck of a lot of holes plugged up with his 325-pound frame.
