Report: Broncos' Booker expected to miss up to 6-8 weeks with wrist injury

Denver Broncos running back Devontae Booker is expected to miss up to six-to-eight weeks with a wrist injury, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports.

Booker, a fourth-round pick in last year's draft, was set to enter his sophomore season competing for a role in Denver's offensive backfield rotation.

Though he may have been facing an uphill battle against the likes of C.J. Anderson and Jamaal Charles, the recent injury history of both veterans certainly added to his potential value.

A six-to-eight week timeline, even if he's able to return on the short side, would appear to put Booker's Week 1 availability into jeopardy.

The injury should result in a more significant workload for sixth-round rookie De'Angelo Henderson over the next few weeks. Additional reps in both training camp and preseason action could very well help him carve out a role in the unsettled backfield situation.
