Report: Ravens' Dixon to undergo surgery for torn meniscus

Evan Habeeb / USA TODAY Sports

Baltimore Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon suffered a tear in his meniscus and will undergo surgery, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Dixon was already scheduled to miss the first four games of the season under a PED suspension. It remains unclear whether the injury will further delay his regular-season debut. The Ravens are hopeful the surgery required will be minor, according to Rapoport.

Regardless of whether he misses additional games, Dixon's knee injury will force him to miss valuable reps at camp. Terrance West is expected to handle early-down work for the Ravens in Dixon's absence, with free-agent addition Danny Woodhead handling passing downs.
