Vikings' Zimmer expects Bridgewater to start camp on PUP list

While Teddy Bridgewater has appeared to make strides in his recovery from a devastating August 2016 knee injury, now working out without a brace, he apparently won't be ready for the start of training camp.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters Sunday that he believes Bridgewater will start camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list, though he admitted he's yet to see the young quarterback, according to VikingsUpdate.com.

It's the expected move, as the Vikings have refused to put a timetable on Bridgewater's return.

If the 24-year-old is placed on the PUP list, it won't rule out the possibility of him suiting up in 2017, though he won't be able to play in the first six weeks of the season if he doesn't practice by the end of camp.

Bridgewater missed the entire 2016 campaign after suffering the injury in camp. Sam Bradford arrived via trade to take over the starting role, and is expected to keep it until Bridgewater is given the all clear.
