Watch: Vernon Davis recalls most devastating hit of his career

Every NFL player remembers the biggest hit he either dished out or absorbed, and Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis is no exception.

During a charity event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Davis was asked to recount the biggest hit he ever took. He recalled one delivered by Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor when Davis was a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

"It was crazy," Davis said. "He hit me so hard, I just got up, I didn't know where I was going ... kind of lost my memory a little bit. I just didn't know what happened."

It was indeed a truly violent hit:

It's a little disconcerting to hear Davis so casually mention suffering memory loss immediately after the hit, as is it to see the room of kids laughing about it (though that's likely due to Davis sharing the story in a humorous way).

Chancellor was penalized for the hit, but upon replay it doesn't appear to be illegal.
