A familiar face will appear to kick off Monday Night Football broadcasts this fall.

ESPN is bringing back country music star Hank Williams Jr., he of the famous catchphrase "Are you ready for some football?", according to USA TODAY's Cindy Watts.

A new version of the theme song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night" will debut this fall.

ESPN cut ties with Williams six years ago after he compared then-president Barack Obama playing golf with then-house speaker John Boehner to "Hitler playing golf with Benjamin Netanyahu." Williams went on to call Obama "the enemy."

"I'm sure there'll be some (backlash), but I'm not concerned," ESPN senior vice president Stephanie Druley said of Williams' return. "It was the right time. We discussed it internally and it was just the right time to bring him back."

The new version of "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night" will reportedly include contemporary music stars who will be revealed this week.
