High school softball pitcher strikes out every batter in perfect game

There wasn't a single batter who could put a bat to Mia Faieta's pitches Friday.

Faieta, a sophomore at Cedar Grove High School in New Jersey, sat down all 21 batters she faced on strikes in a state playoff semifinal against North Warren High School. Cedar Grove would win the contest 4-0 to secure passage to the final, which is scheduled for Tuesday.

"I've never witnessed anything like that before," Cedar Grove head coach Nicole Velardi told Robert Aitken Jr. of NorthJersey.com. "She really held it together.

"We didn't realize until the last inning that she was doing it."
