Ray Allen posts, deletes cryptic response after ex-Celtics exclude him from reunion

Members of the 2008 championship-winning Boston Celtics held a mini-reunion on Kevin Garnett's TNT program "Area 21" on Monday night, and a prominent topic of discussion was the notably absent Ray Allen.

There was some acrimony over Allen's departure from the team in 2012, especially given that he left to join the rival Miami Heat. The Celtics have been planning a 10-year anniversary trip for their title team next year, and haven't invited Allen. The five former Celtics on the program Monday - Garnett, Paul Pierce, Glen Davis, Rajon Rondo, and Kendrick Perkins - said their long-simmering beef has less to do with the fact that Allen left than the fact that he didn't talk to them about it first.

Almost to a man, they also said they haven't spoken to Allen since the ugly split, and Perkins said he feels it's Allen's responsibility, more than theirs, to break the ice.

Was this Allen's idea of breaking the ice? His cryptic Facebook post Tuesday morning - which he subsequently removed several hours later - appeared to be a rebuttal of some kind, but the caption - "The power to push limits" - wasn't exactly telling.

In any event, Allen can take solace in the fact that he collected another ring after decamping for Miami - hitting one of the biggest shots in NBA history along the way - while his former teammates had to settle for just the one championship.
