Phil Kessel made game No. 800 a memorable one.
Two periods after rifling a patented wrister top corner for his 16th goal of the season, the Pittsburgh Penguins sniper whacked home the overtime winner Friday to sink the Columbus Blue Jackets.
On a bigger scale, Kessel's heroics shrunk the gap between the two clubs in the standings, each with 50 games played. Columbus sits second in the Metropolitan Division with 71 points, while Pittsburgh is hot in pursuit, currently in third place with 69 points of its own.
