Watford issues statement on Graham Taylor's passing
Watford fans were given news on Thursday that club legend Graham Taylor had passed away, with the Taylor family explaining in a statement that the 72-year-old suffered a suspected heart attack at home early Thursday morning
While Taylor enjoyed spells at several clubs both as a player and a manager, he is best defined by his time at Watford, with the club issuing a statement in response to the news of his passing.
"The Hornets are deeply saddened to confirm the news that former manager and Honorary Life-President Graham Taylor OBE has died," a statement read on Watford's official website.
"GT, 72, passed away this morning and the club is in a state of mourning at the shock death of its most successful and greatest ever manager. The club extends its deepest sympathies to Graham's wife, Rita, their daughters, grandchildren, and other family members."

Taylor, once the manager of England in the early 1990s, is renowned at Watford for having saved the club from the basement of English football, taking over the helm of the club in 1977 and leading it all the way up to a second-place finish in the 1982-83 First Division, and a spot in European competition with it.
He also enjoyed spells at Aston Villa and Wolves before returning to Vicarage Road in 1996 and helping the club earn promotion to the Premier League.
